The Painted Turtle On Her Mission

This gorgeous specimen was at the end of our street exploring the environment. Perhaps she was resting after laying her eggs? Perhaps she was on the lookout for a good nest site? In any case, we had to have a look at the lovely colours — close up —  before we let her get back to business.
Mother Nature is definitely a Paint Shop Pro.

Wow, what a fantastic photograph! The thought of being able to carry one’s house around effortlessly on one’s back is oddly comforting today. A place for meditation, for sheltering, for rearranging one’s space or one’s head, for exiting at will to confront The World. It gives new meaning to the concept of Someone or SomeThing having one’s back, doesn’t it?
