Direct Messenger of the Gods

I feel lucky to be able to observe this beautiful bird of prey.
Linda, though,  is the real lucky one because Mr. and Mrs. Merlin have set up residence in the huge white pine on the corner of her property. I have to walk about 6 blocks to catch a glimpse, but it’s usually worth the walk: most days he greets me with his cry, and then I know where to look so I can see him way up in the top of a nearby tree.
He has yet to show me his tricks or to send me any messages, but I’m a patient birder, and I will be back.
Maybe I’ll even get to see the young when they fledge?
In the meantime, I’m keeping my eyes and ears open. It’s hard to know when the communication will begin.
